The BEST Screening program was developed to assist with the early identification of children who may have, or are at risk for, a vision impairment, including brain-based vision impairments (CVI). Through parent education and comprehensive vision screenings, BEST is here to help families of children who have questions about their child’s vision. Our staff is trained on the Neonatal Assessment Visual European Grid (NAVEG), a reliable and non-invasive screening tool that assesses the visual skills and functioning of children as young as 35 weeks gestation. Early visual skills are crucial to a child’s learning potential. If you are a parent, caregiver or provider and have questions regarding a child’s vision, please don’t hesitate to reach out to an eye care professional or BEST.
